Kanpur: The doctor who conducted medical examination of a minor rape survivor in UP's Kannauj has alleged that she was threatened by govt advocate Kishore Dohre when she went to a court in Kannauj to testify in the case that involves a former block head, Nawab Singh Yadav, who is at present behind bars. She has filed an FIR against four persons, including Dohre.

Dr Swastika Shalini claimed that she went to testify on Mar 19 when Dohre threatened her, saying that Nawab Singh Yadav was about to be released from jail and her testimony would not matter as the survivor has changed her statement. He also threatened that there would be three murders once Nawab Singh Yadav is out of jail, the doctor said. The doctor alleged that police did not lodge her FIR despite repeated attempts. It was registered recently, almost two months after she was threatened, following her meeting with the Kannauj SP.

She also claimed that a conspiracy was being hatched to murder her, her husband Ravindra Kumar, and other family members.

On Aug 11 last year, police had arrested Nawab Singh Yadav from a degree college on charges of raping a minor girl. The next day, the victim underwent a medical examination, during which Dr Shalini prepared the medical report. On Mar 19, the doctor testified in the Pocso court regarding this case. "Based on the doctor's statement, a report has been filed and the case is being investigated. Police protection will be provided to the doctor based on the investigation report," Kannauj SP Vinod Kumar said.

The Kotwali police have registered a case against Kishore Dohre, Nawab Singh Yadav, Neelu Yadav and Pooja Tomar on Dr Shalini's complaint under Sections 224, 132, 49, 232, 61(2), and 351(3) of the BNS. Dr Shalini is currently posted at Tirva CHC and her husband Ravindra Kumar works at Bakewar Hospital in Etawah district.
