Kanpur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Kanpur on May 30 to lay foundation stone and inaugurate 11 developmental projects worth Rs 20.6 crore.
According to official sources, the projects include a metro station, a power plant, and a hospital in the south. The PM will also attend a public meeting at CSA Ground in Kanpur Nagar. He is also likely to visit the family of Shubham Dwivedi, who was killed by terrorists in Pahalgam.
On Thursday, district magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh presided over an important meeting to review preparations for the PM's proposed public meeting and gave necessary instructions to officials concerned.
The meeting had discussions on key aspects, including security protocols, traffic control, health services, water facilities, sanitation, venue organisation and parking arrangements. The DM stressed the need for completing assigned responsibilities on time for smooth conduct of the events. The security review included directives for vigilance and safety protocols implementation. The CMO was directed to ensure provision of healthcare services. Officials were also directed to ensure cleanliness and water supply at the venue. The DM gave deadlines for technical arrangements, including tents, stage setup, seating, and sound systems.
CDO Deeksha Jain, DCP (Traffic) Ravindra Kumar and CMO Dr Haridatt Nemi were present at the meeting, among others. Meanwhile, the DM inspected the CSA venue for the PM's public meeting. tnn
