Nagpur: A city-based man, identified as Mohammed Alamgir, who owned a puncture repair shop near Mayo Hospital, was arrested by the Nandanvan police for shooting dead a man in Vaishali, Bihar. According to police, after gunning down Mohd Shabbir Alam over a property dispute on May 3, Alamgir fled back to Nagpur.
The Nandanvan police team, led by Inspector Jaywant Patil, received information about Alamgir returning from Bihar after murdering his neighbour in his native town. The team traced him to Panther Nagar near Hiwari Nagar and detained him for questioning.
Initially, Alamgir tried to mislead the police, but later confessed to the crime. Following his admission, the Nandanvan police alerted their counterparts in Bihar. Subsequently, officers from Hajipur Town police station arrived in Nagpur and took Alamgir into their custody.
