Mobile Based Integrated QR Code Ticketing System has been introduced on trial basis in Kolkata Metro from September 11 onwards. P. Uday Kumar Reddy, general manager, metro railway introduced this new ticketing system on trial basis at Kalighat Metro station in the presence of other senior metro officials. Reddy had expressed his hope that this ticketing system would be beneficial for metro commuters as they would be able to purchase their tickets at their convenient time without standing in the queues, and interchange corridors with the QR code-based tickets. This system introduced on a trial basis will make commuting in the Metro during the forthcoming puja days more comfortable and enjoyable, he added.
