With playful spins and groovy rhythms, Salsa dancing can be a great addition to your weekend plans. We put on our suede-sole shoes at a Latin American dance workshop hosted by Salsawala to get you the deets.
Salsa it your way
While Salsa has been popular amongst Western dance purists, non-dancers are now shaking a leg to Latin music. “Many people have a perception that to dance Salsa, one always needs partner. These workshops help break this belief. Salsa can be enjoyed by all age groups, and everyone can vibe to the music,” said Hitesh H Teckchandani, dancer and teacher who conducted the workshop.
I follow all the Salsa parties happening in the city. The vibe and the music is magical and it’s a great place to socialise as well– Arindam Tappu Mukherjee, workshop attendee
Rumba, Afro, Bolero, Cha-cha-cha and Charanga are some of the dance forms and music genres under Salsa
