GTA Online has been a wild ride. From pulling off epic heists to getting sniped out of nowhere by a flying bike, it’s given us chaos, fun, and plenty of controller-throwing moments. But as we inch closer to GTA 6 , Rockstar has the chance to clean the slate and get things right. Here are 7 things from GTA Online that absolutely shouldn’t make a comeback.
1. Toxic Lobbies and Griefers EverywhereFlying bikes with rockets. Randoms blowing up your deliveries for fun. Yeah, we’ve had enough. GTA Online lobbies are a paradise for trolls, and Rockstar’s passive mode isn’t nearly enough. GTA 6 needs better anti-griefing tools, private session rewards, and AI that doesn’t stand there while you get blown to bits.
2. The Never-Ending GrindWant a cool car? A nightclub? A submarine? Prepare to grind for hours—or buy Shark Cards. The in-game economy is painfully slow unless you spend real money. In GTA 6, Rockstar needs a fairer, more balanced progression system that rewards skill over endless repetition.
3. Shark Cards Over SkillLet’s be real: GTA Online often feels like “Pay to Flex.” Players who spend cash have a huge edge over those grinding jobs and heists. If GTA 6’s online mode wants to feel fresh, Rockstar should ditch the pay-to-win model and make purchases more cosmetic or optional.
4. Outdated Menus and UI NightmaresCalling your mechanic. Scrolling endlessly for a car. Digging through a maze of phone contacts. The UI in GTA Online is clunky and dated. GTA 6 needs a streamlined, modern interface—something quick, responsive, and not stuck in 2013.
5. Lack of Fresh Content for Solo PlayersIf you don’t have a crew, GTA Online can feel dead or downright punishing. Many missions are designed for teams, leaving solo players behind. In GTA 6, Rockstar should add engaging solo content that still feels rewarding without needing a mic or four friends.
6. Hackers and Modders Run WildOn PC especially, GTA Online is a hacker's playground. Modders can spawn whales on your head or freeze your game completely. It’s fun for about 2 seconds. GTA 6 must have better anti-cheat systems, dedicated servers, and real-time moderation.
7. Long Load Times and Server IssuesRemember waiting 5 minutes just to spawn in? Yeah, not fun. Even in 2025, players complain about crashes, long loads, and endless matchmaking loops. GTA 6 needs faster servers, smoother matchmaking, and the kind of infrastructure worthy of a billion-dollar franchise.
GTA Online has been wildly successful—but also wildly frustrating. If Rockstar can learn from its missteps, GTA 6’s online mode could be next-level. Cleaner, fairer, faster, and way more fun. We’ve waited over a decade. Let’s not bring old baggage into the new era.
