5-minute snacks made with boiled potatoes

Weekend is here and it’s time to indulge in some lip-smacking appetizers! As much as we love the idea of relishing some delicious snacks, the mere thought of making them at home may seem like a daunting task. But have you ever thought of making delicious snacks using leftover boiled potatoes? Well, if not then it is time to donn your chef’s hat and make some fun recipes using boiled potatoes.

Crispy Cheesy potato balls
To make this quick snack, take a bowl and mash 2-3 boiled potatoes, add chopped green chilies, coriander leaves, ginger and garlic paste, cumin powder, red chili powder, salt and a pinch of baking soda. Make a smooth dough with crushed oats. Next, make small balls and make a cavity, fill in some grated cheese. In the meantime, heat a pan and add oil, once the oil is hot enough, add the balls and deep fry. Serve hot and enjoy with a dip.




Potato Munchies
This quick appetizer is perfect for anytime hunger. Just take 2-3 boiled potatoes, make thin strips, next take a large bowl and mix all cornflour, roasted cumin powder, red chili powder, salt, pepper, garlic powder. Add the potato strips and coat them well. Once done, heat a pan and fill it with oil. Next, drop the potatoes, deep fry and serve hot with homemade hummus or dip.


Aloo Chaat
Aloo chaat is a tangy and spicy street-style snack made in minutes. Just chop boiled potatoes into cubes and toss them with chaat masala, red chili powder, salt, lemon juice, and finely chopped onions and coriander. Add some sev on top for crunch, and your tasty snack is ready!


Potato Cheese Toast
Mash boiled potatoes and mix them with salt, pepper, chili flakes, and grated cheese. Spread this mix on bread slices and toast them on a tawa or sandwich maker till golden. It's crispy on the outside and cheesy inside—perfect for tea-time.


Quick Aloo Tikki
Mash the boiled potatoes and season with salt, coriander, green chili, and a pinch of garam masala. Shape into small tikkis and shallow-fry on a pan till golden brown on both sides. Serve with ketchup or mint chutney for a satisfying bite.


Potato Mayo Sandwich
Mix mashed boiled potatoes with mayonnaise, a pinch of pepper, chopped cucumbers or carrots, and salt. Spread this creamy mixture between slices of bread for a quick and tasty sandwich. You can grill it lightly or eat it cold.


Spicy Potato Stir-Fry
Slice the boiled potatoes and sauté them in a bit of oil with mustard seeds, curry leaves, green chili, turmeric, and salt. Fry for a couple of minutes till the edges are crisp. This South Indian-style stir-fry is great as a snack or a side dish.
