NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday was granted bail by a Jharkhand court in connection with a case filed over alleged defamatory remarks he made against Union home minister Amit Shah in 2018.
On June 2, Rahul Gandhi moved the Jharkhand high court challenging a special court’s order summoning him on June 26 in a 2018 defamation case . His counsel informed the court on June 10 that he couldn’t appear on that date and had requested August 6 instead, which the court accepted.
The case, filed by Pratap Kumar, accuses Gandhi of making defamatory remarks against Shah at a Chaibasa rally.
