NEW DELHI: In a troubling recurrence of violence, Kap’s Café, the Surrey-based eatery owned by entertainer Kapil Sharma , has come under gunfire for the second time in less than a month, as per the report by local media.
The café, located at 85 Avenue and Scott Road, was riddled with bullets early on Thursday morning, with at least six bullet holes and shattered windows visible at the scene, the report said.
The Surrey Police Service (SPS) arrived shortly after reports of gunfire, but has yet to release official details regarding the incident. The local residents described being jolted awake by the sound of multiple gunshots.
This marks the second shooting at the café since early July, just days after the business opened.
In the previous incident, shots were fired while some staff members were inside, but no injuries were reported. No arrests have been made in connection with that case, and the motive remains unclear.
According to media reports, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for Thursday’s attack, a development that raises fresh concerns.
While authorities have not officially confirmed the gang’s involvement, the incident adds to growing anxiety in the region.
Kapil Sharma, known globally for his hit shows Comedy Nights with Kapil and The Kapil Sharma Show, has not yet commented on the shooting.
Police say the investigation is ongoing, and further details are awaited.
