KISHTWAR : A 35-year-old woman died after being struck by a bullet accidentally fired by a Village Defence Guard (VDG) member in Jammu and Kashmir ’s Kishtwar district late Friday night.
“Pushpa Devi was outside her house attending to daily chores in Aragam village in Singhpura-Chatroo area when she was fatally struck by a bullet. The VDG member has been taken into custody,” police said.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances that led to the firing.
