Pakistan helicopter crash: 7 killed in North Waziristan, many injured

A tragic helicopter crash in North Waziristan , Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, has resulted in the deaths of seven people and injuries to seven others, according to a security official on Saturday. The chartered flight, which was carrying employees of an oil company , experienced engine failure shortly after takeoff.

The crash occurred as the helicopter attempted an emergency landing , during which the tail rotor struck the ground. Three foreign nationals, including the pilot and crew, were onboard; however, their nationalities have not been disclosed, and it remains unclear if they were among the fatalities.

The official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity due to restrictions on media communications, stated that there were no indications of sabotage. The injured have since been transported to a military hospital for treatment.

“A technical fault occurred in the helicopter while taking off,” the official reported as quoted by AP. An investigation into the incident has been launched.

The crash site is located in Shewa, approximately 200 kilometers (124 miles) southwest of the provincial capital, Peshawar.
